The Livestock Conservancy has named Allison Kincaid as executive director of our 47-year-old not-for-profit organization. With more than 20 years of experience in the conservation and non-profit sectors, she is well-equipped to lead The Livestock Conservancy into the future. Kincaid’s hiring concludes an extensive nationwide search. She began her duties Jan. 20.

A former executive director at Impact Association Management, Kincaid successfully led the day-to-day operations of four board-run associations. Her responsibilities included budgeting and finances, community outreach, volunteer management, leadership development and strategic planning.

“The Livestock Conservancy and its mission align with my personal and professional calling to serve in the conservation space while leveraging my non-profit skills and experience,” Kincaid said.  “I can’t think of a better role for me at this point in my career.”

Kincaid’s skills in developing strategic conservation partnerships and managing association operations will be invaluable as she leads The Livestock Conservancy, providing continuity and growth. With key strengths in organizational change management and governmental collaboration, she previously served as executive director of the Colorado Parks and Recreation Association and as the statewide partnership coordinator for Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

“Allison Kincaid’s background aligns well with our mission of conserving endangered livestock and poultry,” Livestock Conservancy Board Member Gloria Basse, who chaired the search committee, said. “As a leader, her approach is transformational, motivational and participative. She will champion our organization daily and do what’s right for The Livestock Conservancy.”

Kincaid holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies with a minor in biology. The Cosby, Tennessee, resident will work remotely and travel to the organization’s Pittsboro, North Carolina, headquarters as needed.
