Naturally colored (as it grows on the sheep) Jacob sheep hide with a staple length range from 4-6inches. This sheep skin was raised with care by me and my ranch in CO, and thoughtfully & naturally bark tanned in OR. Fluffy soft wool and supple good-smelling leather. No toxic chemicals.

Jacob sheep wool is known for it’s strength, versatility, open-nature, holding it’s shape, softness and ability to withstand daily wear and tear. Although described as a medium wool we’ve found that it’s still next-to-skin-soft. This Hide was sourced from our Jacob sheep, a rare heritage breed.

As a rancher striving to uphold the active conservation efforts of this rare heritage breed (global populations are currently estimated at around 5000 individual sheep) all of my breeding stock are registered. Those that don’t pass muster in my breeding program are utilized to the fullest extent. The meat and marrow bones are eaten, the skulls become euro mounts, and the hides go on to become beautiful and useful sheepskins.

We’ve found our hides make the perfect addition to any cozy repertoire, they fill the role of blankets, fluffy carpets, camping/floor mattresses, comfortable beds for your canine company, or the for newest member of your family, and so much more, because nothing can compare to the versatility of nature.
