AMERICAN GAME BIRDS

American Game Birds were traditionally raised for sport and cockfighting but were also popular for their table qualities. Because they come in a wide variety of colors and males often have long tail feathers, American Games are popular as ornamental birds in some regions of the United States. Unfortunately, their numbers are dwindling. With so much genetic diversity represented in this breed, new stewards are needed who can contribute to their conservation while enjoying this breed’s meat qualities.
