Registered Barbados blackbelly sheep (BBS) from Sweet Sourland Farms-family owned, offering forest and agricultural products for sale on a modest scale. We are located in west central NJ.
Ten lambs (born April 2023) available now include 1 potential breeding pair (ram and ewe lamb) and 1 breeding group (1 ram, 2 ewe lambs) who have a low COI (coefficient of inbreeding) score. Two of the 3 ram lambs are scrapie resistant (by parentage). Price is $400 each, includes CDT vaccinations and BBSAI registration and transfer of ownership fees. Out of state sales require a Certificate of Veterinary inspection, fee paid by the buyer. We also have wether lambs available, at $350 each. Our lambs are bred here and raised on pasture with their dams. All foundation rams and ewes were gene tested and selected for scrapie resistance- our 2 rams are RR and ewes either QR or RR on codon 171, and AA on codon 136. All are registered with the Barbados Blackbelly Sheep Association International (BBSAI). Two of this year’s ram lambs are scrapie resistant (AARR) by parentage.
