The Barbados Blackbelly breed evolved in the Caribbean to tolerate parasites, hot and humid weather and variable diet. Barbados Blackbelly rams are hearty survivors that adapt well to a variety of habitats including marginal pasture overrun with brush and invasive plants. Rams are familiar with livestock guardian dogs and electric fences. Prices vary from $300 for unregistered, weaned ram lambs ideal to raise for meat to $400 for registered, sexually mature rams, many of whom are proven sires.
