Veterans Workshop 2016 Scholarships

Scholarships

Through the continued generosity of the William JJ Gordon Family Foundation and other donors, The Livestock Conservancy is pleased to once again offer scholarships to veterans who wish to attend the 2017 From Service to Stewardship workshop. These scholarships are available to cover the cost of registration and up to $200 in travel expenses.

Qualifications: To qualify you must:

  • Be currently enlisted or a veteran of the United States Armed Services
  • Require economic assistance in order to attend
  • Answer these questions:
    • What information do you hope to learn during this workshop?
    • Are you currently farming? How and why?
    • What sparked your interest in heritage breeds?
       
  • Provide feedback and share your experiences after the event. Some specific questions to keep in mind:
    • Biggest/most valuable take-away from the workshop
    • What lessons or experience will influence your decision to become a heritage breed farmer, OR
    • What lessons or experience will impact your current farming practices and why
    • Which speaker did you enjoy the most and why
    • Would you attend again in the future
    • What other information do you need/want from The Livestock Conservancy to make your farm dream a reality

For Scholarship Recipients
Recipients will need to make their own travel plans to attend the workshop.

In order for recipients to receive reimbursements for travel,

receipts and workshop feedback must be received by April 30, 2017.
